What does AiS approval for Safes mean?
The Association of Insurance Surveyors, short "AIS", is an organization independently evaluating insurance risks for UK insurance agencies. Their goal isto ensure safes and services meet certain criteria. AIS assess and testrisk factors on behalf of insurance companies.This includes providing recommendation for safes with ratings that certify whatkind of cash value they are capable of reasonably protecting from theft or damage.
A safe that is AIS approved will be given a rating in cash value starting with £1.000 up to several hundreds of thousand’s of GBP. For physical non cash values this figure isusually a multiple of 10.
What does Eurograde Safe rating mean?
A Eurograde rated safe is one that has passed certain tests at differing levels to provide you a security rating for insurance purposes. They are usually tested by prestigious testing house with most models being tested by ECB.S or VdS. This is a standardised system which ensures that if a safe is listed as a Eurograde, it has passed certain tests and varying levels dependent upon the grade level.
All Eurograde safes will be tested to EN1143-1 level for theft attempt. Safes are tested with a variety of tools and for differing and lengthening timescales and are then scored according to how they respond to these tests.
