Delivery costs

Standard delivery to a mainland address within Great Britain is provided free of charge. We can usually deliver anywhere in the British Isles, but delivery to any addresses in the Scottish Highlands, the Scottish Islands, the Isles of Scilly, the Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man, or any BFPO addresses, may incur an additional charge and in some circumstances may not be possible. Please call 01793 647800 for advice if you require delivery to an address in these locations.


Deliveries will be free to kerb side only. Our couriers should call prior to delivery, but we are unable to guarantee this service or to guarantee any delivery slot. If you are ordering more than one product, these items may not be delivered together.

When will my delivery arrive?

For standard delivery most shipments of less than 31 kg will arrive in 3 to 4 working days from the receipt of the order. For heavier items, or orders to remote locations, delivery may take longer. We will call you to advise you of the delivery date for any heavier safes. Delivery of these items will usually take place 5 to 7 working days from the receipt of the order. All delivery times are estimates only, and are not guarantees.

Timed deliveries

Delivery will normally be within normal office hours (8 a.m.-4 p.m.) If you require a certain delivery time, please verify this with the courier during the delivery arrangement telephone call. Timed deliveries will incur an additional cost and are not guaranteed.

Signed deliveries

All deliveries may require a signature. This enables the courier to provide a proof of delivery as part of our tracking procedure.

Tracking my safe

Where your products are shipped with a trackable service, we will provide you with a tracking number by email. All tracking is provided by a third party and we cannot be held responsible if the courier does not update the tracking information.

Damages and faults

If the product you purchase is incorrect, damaged, or faulty, we may offer an exchange, refund or repair as appropriate. Where an item is received and the packaging is obviously damaged, you must inform the courier immediately. Please sign the proof of delivery note, but add a comment stating that the packing box is damaged and is unopened. Please check the contents as soon as possible and contact us on 01793 312202 to arrange an exchange, refund or repair as appropriate. Where an item is received and it is not obviously damaged prior to unpacking, any issues must be reported to us as soon as possible and within [48] hours of receipt. Please contact us on 01793 312202 to report any such issues. This must be done as soon as possible so that we can inform the courier of the damage. To return a product that is incorrect, damaged or faulty please follow our returns procedure in the section “Returning an Order”. YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS ARE NOT AFFECTED.

Failed delivery

A signature may be required to take delivery of the goods. For items lighter than 31kg, if you are not present when delivery is attempted and a signature is required, our courier will leave a card at the delivery address to inform you that the delivery has been attempted. The card will contain instructions on how to either rearrange delivery or to make a collection. For items heavier than 31kg, we will contact you to arrange delivery a delivery date. If you need to rearrange a delivery or make collections please contact Metric Safes by calling 01793 312202 to confirm new delivery details. If the courier is unable to deliver the safe due to incorrect delivery instructions, or you are not present to take delivery, we may charge for another delivery and there may be a charge for the missed delivery.

Cancelling an Order

You may change your mind and cancel any order within 14 days of receiving your order (or the last of your goods where these have been delivered in separate batches). Your right to cancel will end after this period. This does not affect your rights in respect of any incorrect, faulty or damaged goods. To cancel your order and return the goods please contact 01793 312202 or tell us in some other clear way (for example by letter or email). If you wish you may also choose to use our cancellation form. You are responsible for the costs of returning goods to us, unless they are incorrect, faulty or damaged.

Goods must be returned to us within 14 days of you cancelling your order.

All goods returned to us must be received undamaged and in the same condition as delivered to you, with all manuals and accessories, and to the extent possible with all original packing material. We may make a deduction from the refund due to you in respect of any damage for which you are responsible or in respect of any excessive handling of the items. Subject to the above, within 14 days after the day that we receive the returned goods (or receipt of proof that you have returned the goods, or when you tell us you are cancelling if no goods have been delivered) we will refund the cost of the returned goods.

Where you have cancelled the whole order, we will also refund the cost of any basic delivery charges that you have paid (this does not include the additional cost of any enhanced or premium service). We will process the refund via your original payment methods (and some methods, such as PayPal, may therefore take longer to be received into your account). Any professional installation costs or bespoke modifications are not refundable. Once the goods have been installed it may not be possible to cancel the order if they are inseparable mixed with other items.
